During my necklace a day challenge, I tried to make a big dent in my almost half pound stash of dark gold bugle beads. I suppose I underestimated just how many of these beads I had, because even a 10 strand necklace didn’t reduce them by much. It occurred to me that I might be finding ways to use these beads until the end of time!
And since pairing up beads as a gift set is almost as much fun as creating with them, I’m giving these away with matte and silver lined gold bugles, and galvanized metallic gold 11/o Czech seed beads. As a palette, I think they’d be great for home décor projects like beaded curtains or lampshades.

ReplyDeleteInteresting question! I am torn between ordinary seed beads to use for beadweaving or delicas for peyote stitched little boxes.
I have a slight addiction to making the little beaded boxes, so Delicas in a full rainbow of colours it will be my wish.
Difficult question. I think I would work with lampwork glass beads if I could only work with one type of bead for the rest of my life. Luckily, I don't have to make that choice in real life ;)

Definitely seed beads would be my choice. In my opinion they are the most versatile of all beads. You can bead with them alone, make beaded beads, embroider, embellish - you name it!

I would definitely choose seed beads of any type, size, color! I just need them like I need air. HA! ReplyDeletethat is a very hard question to answer, if I could have a rainbow of colors in the wheel barrow, I would say delicas, if not an asortment of lampwork beads would be good too..when it comes to beads I can be pretty greedy

ReplyDeleteA wheelbarrow full, eh? Well, that would be sort of easy! Not! lol I'd have to weigh between Mijuki cube and Miyuki Triangle beads...mmm...I think I'd pick the Triangle beads. I love using both in herringbone stitch as well as bead embroidery, but probably use more of the triangles.
i am a huuuuge bugle bead fan, so this giveaway is exciting for me! if i could have only one kind of bead? if you asked me this 6 months ago i would definitely say seed beads. but today i'm in a swarovski kind of mood. anyhing sparkly and shiny would make my day!

I thought about this a lot as I read through the entries, seeing so many people choosing round seed beads. I think I would choose Swarovski bicones, but in my work they have the "disadvantage" (in this case) of absolutely necessary additions of -- you guessed it! -- seed beads. So I go with the crowd on this one. Best to all,

This is a hard decision, either between bicones or tila beads, I guess I'd say bicones, since they are used in so many beading projects.
ReplyDeletePearls, definitely freshwater pearls of all colors and sizes. I would not know what to do with a wheel barrow full of seed beads, yet... maybe some classes are in order.
