Wish List: Beading Accessories

While taking photographs of some new rings recently, I made a huge error. I forgot to put away my hand display, and before I knew it, some little monster had used it as a drumstick. The index finger broke into three pieces. While I do plan to glue it back together, and perhaps decoupage it to cover up the seams, I thought it was a great excuse to look for something new.

I searched high and low for a similar display - preferably in black - and finally found one from Lizard Queen Jewelry on Etsy. It’s adorable, and I can’t wait to try it out the next time I make some new rings.

While I was searching, I came across all kinds of interesting goodies that have everything and nothing to do with beads. These are some of my favorites.

    I use my daughters' baby spoons to scoop up beads instead of a triangle. They have bunnies on the handle. Not that a triangle wouldn't be a better choice, I just like having a reminder of the infant years :D

    My favorite bead scoop is a Woody Woodpecker spoon with sparkles in the handle. I got it with a sundae about a million years ago. It's funny how we can collect such interesting artifacts around us, isn't it?

    It's hard to pick one, but I really love my beading mat. I have a couple of beading boards which are great for stringing, but when I'm doing anything involving seed beads, especially things like cellini spirals, I prefer to be able to just plonk my beads down any which way, and rearrange the piles, and the mat is perfect. Plus they're so cheap, which leaves more money for beads :)

    Hi there, I've been reading this blog for a little while now and thought I'd 'de-lurk' and say "hello"!
    The beading accessory I couldn't do without is my biscuit tin!!
    Firstly for the biscuits (obviously!) but secondly when empty these type of tins make great storage for any ongoing project.
    If I leave my beading projects out on the desk unattended my cat has a party and I'll return to discover tiny beads all over the floor!!

    I know exactly what you mean! Only my bead-wrecker is my son, who loves beads, but loves messes even more.

    I use a tupperware veggies and dip container. The upturned lid makes a great work tray, and the inside has lots of space to keep supplies and tools. I love the little dip compartment in the middle!
