Bead Giveaway: Turquoise and Horn

This week I am bidding farewell to some of my absolute favorite acrylic beads. I’ve combined a selection of turquoise blue pieces, and some faux horn in a variety of lovely shapes.

The set includes lots of pretty robin’s egg blue ovals. At one time, I had hoped to hand paint these beads with tiny little hieroglyphs - the smooth finish just calls out for a little embellishment. There are also some shell-like spiral beads, rounded bicones, cubes, art nouveau discs, and more.

    Oh, pretty! I think my favorite would be seed beads, because of all the beautiful naturally occurring patterns.

    Love those colors! Turquoise and copper have long been one of my favorite color combo's. Wood is another favorite material, because you can make it any color you want with paint or dye.

    I love fire agate! Cracked, colorful and unpredictable, no two beads are ever alike, it's pure star stuff! For somber days I prefer round lava beads, especially the black ones - the are rough, tough and grounding, and come from the very depth of the earth.

    It is really hard to choose my favorite natural bead material, but i have narrowed it down to two: I simply adore freshwater pearls! The luster and sheen adds a depth to my creations. I also love all the different beads that are made of seeds and nuts! I think I actually love them all! I am a huge fan of your website, I find myself returning to it over and over! Thanks for being here!

    I love turquoise in all it's various colors! Would like to know how to tell if it is real turquoise or bone vs howlite or plastic. Do you know?

    I'm loving tagua at the moment. I love all the shapes and sizes and the fabulous way it takes color. I have none of it and want a ton of it!

    Oh definitely Jasper. It has a range of color, and it goes so well with silver, another favorite of mine.

    The combination of the giveaway colors is gorgeous and already is getting my creative juices going.

    My favorite natural material is shells; sea shells, snail, or worm. I mix them with sea glass, beads and wire.

    Oh honey I am knowing I love me some Unakite......then turquoise and most of the jaspers ...but Unakite is absotively posilutely my fav....bye for now and Happy Beading

    I think my favorite is the tagua nut. It can be carved, dyed, and otherwise shaped into many shapes of beads and clasps.

    Lapis Lazuli is my favorite natural stone. You are right, those flat, shiny sides are just asking for embellishment. Thank you. Linda

    My favorite, without a doubt, is real (not stabilized) turquoise, but it is getting harder and harder to find--especially quality pieces that one can afford. That is an oxymoron, isn't it! I also like a lot of the jaspers and agates, but number one is turquoise.

    Granite rocks paired with pearls!!! I just made a spiral rope bracelet with pinkish granite rocks and pink, champaign, and white pearls ... Thought the combo looked really nice.
