Work in Progress: Many Medallions

This week I’m working on a variety of projects all at once, and they’re all a bit of a secret. If everything goes well I’ll be able to reveal some interesting new embroidered medallion pendants next week, and I can’t wait to show you how that experiment turned out. There's a special twist to the design, and I can't remember the last time I was so happy beading. More on that to come soon!

Beadwork Medallions in Progress

I’ve also got some test projects going, and those won’t be revealed for several months. It’s hard to keep a secret when it involves beads, but this one will definitely be worth it. I can tell you that the piece I’m testing this week includes a combination of several different stitches, and some lovely zebra pearls. I’ve been eager to use those for a long time now, and this piece was the perfect place for them.

What are you working on this week?

  1. My most favorite translucent bead "right now" is a matte light topaz. I have them in 11's, 8's and 6's. Love the sunny color of them. sherillee2@gmail.com

  2. I love surprises, but I'm almost too curious for this type of thing. You're a beady teaser, and that gives me mixed feelings. Can't wait to see something!

  5. What in the world are those things in the dish, up in the left hand corner?? Looks like dried dates, is that your snack or are they beads? lol

    1. Mmm...dates! Actually, they're burgundy baroque pearls. The organic shapes are really lovely, although the drilling is sometimes a bit off. I'm thinking of using the wonky ones in some embroidery projects as well.
