Summer is just around the corner, bringing with it some of nature’s most fabulous inspirations, like butterflies and trips to the beach. To celebrate, this month’s bead giveaway features two sets of vintage acrylic beads that are perfect for summer designs.
The first batch includes an assortment of faux pearls and mother of pearl discs in shades of lustrous white and creamy pale orange. There are also a handful of Lucite pieces in creams and grays. This mix would be fabulous for mermaid inspired pieces!
To complement the pretty pearls I’ve put together a collection of faceted button drops in aquamarine and pale aqua. The curvy shapes and transparent sparkle of these beads is so pretty – like tropical waters.

ReplyDeleteOh, MY! I have been inspired by being able to go outside without a coat! I am honoring the slate greys and leftover brown leaves before the green takes over. The sheep have yet to be shorn and the grass is about to grow. The last of the ice is leaving the earth. The finishes need to be clear like my stream.
ReplyDeleteSummer for me is the sea,the waves, the beach.Love blue, green, turqoise colors and i like to combine styles when making summer pieces.
ReplyDeleteI'm an opera necklace fan. I can wear it long or double it. Possibly even use it as a bracelet. Very versatile and great when I'm traveling.

ReplyDeleteJust about everywhere I look in a summery garden invokes inspiration. From snowy white daisies to dark red roses. Also the visiting birds and butterflies bring about their own inspirations for me to draw upon.
ReplyDeleteLiving on the Oregon coast, I find the ocean, beaches, and forests to be a constant inspiration. Blues, greens, browns, and cream colors are my go to palette. I like to make knotted "beach" bracelets with waxed linen and hemp that include beads in this color grouping. Shells and beach rocks usually make their way into pieces of my jewelry. Thanks for the giveaway. Gorgeous beads!

The beautiful pearls put me in mind of sunrise, always inspiring. The aquamarine button drops make me see the ocean with the sun sparkling on it. Life is beautiful and we should take time to notice how lovely it is.
ReplyDeleteMy Summer inspiration is Yemanja, the ocean's Orixa. Her colors are shades of blue and white. And, of course, shells. Great giveaway, thank you! You can contact me at: anarama@ymailDOTcom

My Summer inspiration is the lake where I grew up and it's shores. We still go camping there and the lake turns the most interesting shades of green and blue when a storm is approaching and it's shores give up some pretty rocks which have been nicely polished by nature along with some small shells. The faceted button drops in this draw reflect some of the colours the lake turns.
ReplyDeleteI like to use the summer sun in the trees as my inspiration. I like to use bright but translucent yellows among opaque dark greens with a bit of blue sparkle separating them Such as Swarovski double AB blue crystals. There's nothing like looking at a blue sky under a shady tree.
ReplyDeleteOf course THIS summer, my inspiration will be white and gold and cobalt blue as I am getting married and making all the wedding party jewelry. I'm so happy! Lauren Knabel Laurenstacy516@gmail.com
I think that everything summer has to offer gives me inspiration. From the beach to carnivals I get vivid color inspiration.
ReplyDeleteSummer Inspiration: Oddly enough, when it happens, watching the wildfires race through the mountains. Seeing the flames at night, the black clouds of smoke surrounded by blue skies, the colored dots of the firefighting tankers dropping water. Primal. Surreal.
ReplyDeleteLove your blog. These beads are gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful Pearls. Great idea. Thank you for sharing this.
