Bead Giveaway: From the Beach

I’m almost finished with this year’s stash clean up. My bead collection is starting to look really polished and much more ‘me’ than ever before. I’ve got quite a few destash beads to giveaway yet, and this month it’s all about the beach (again!). This prize pack includes a big handful of lovely cowry shells that are perfect for hemp jewelry and mixed media projects, plus a dollop of pretty mother of pearl chips. I’ve had some really great times working with these beads, but it’s time for them to find a more worthy home.

    I've been doing a bit of bead embroidery with shells lately. Really enjoying it and , if I must say are beautiful lol. I love the beach and all things that go with it. Living in Florida , you can wear beach themed things all year round

    How pretty! My favourite beach palette is some sand coloured picasso seed beads in 8/0 and 6/0. I mix in natural and pastel seed beads of different shades and colours and shell, small mineral ships. Unfortunately I am in the middle of my own bead destashing and already have way too many sea-related beads so I will pass on the contest but as soon as I saw it, it reminded me of a bazaar I'm renting a table for in November and I think I will make a small sea-themed holiday tree using some of my stash.

    I like shades of blue and some amethyst shades too which reminds me of beautiful sunsets at the lake.

    Wow! these shells remind me of walking at the beach at low tide and collecting the shells found there. These are lovely :) Than you for this chance.

    I would use Sea Foam and Ocean Blue bicones. I would love to make a Flat Spiral Bracelet or necklace. When I was in CA I loved to go to the beach and look for sea shells . I love beading.

    I just put together a beach scene pallet of cream, corals and pale blues for a bead embroidered wall hanging for my daughter. She doesn't bead and/or wear jewelry so I make wall hangings for her.

    Shells have been important for Native American jewelry for eons. Before traders made glass beads available, adornment relied on objects found in nature. I would use these beads with a natural color pallette to honor those who have gone before.

    I would do a color palette inspired by the windy, rocky Oregon coast. A dark, glossy, grey, a light blue-grey, a darkish yellow-green, like kelp on the sand, and maybe a dark matte blue. brightburningcampeador@gmail.com
