This week I went back to an old design and had a little fun with color. Ever since I finished my original herringbone bobble bracelet, I’ve been eager to make another using some tomato orange lined cubes that I have.
Since I already had the design down, the toughest part was choosing the colors for this piece. I only have so many possible combinations of delicas, seed beads, triangles and cubes, so finding an attractive palette was a challenge. I finally settled on yellows, oranges, browns and a hint of white and cream. Instead of alternating colors throughout the bracelet, I simply made changes as I went, for a more freeform look.
This time around, I remember to make the delica sections a bit smaller, so that they were more evenly spaced, particularly at the ends of the rope. Unfortunately, this results in a less even curve in the beadwork. If I ever decide to make one more of these bobble bracelets, I’ll have to make some more adjustments to the pattern.

I love this bracelet, and your color combination is very nice. I love yellow, but find it a hard colour to choose beads to compliment due to shades etc. but you did a lovely job with the colours you chose. I see one of these in my very near future. Thanks for sharing!
